Rated 5 out of 5 by Agjohnsphotography from Finally the perfect approach shoe! I have been using low cut approach shoes for years and always hated having brush and gravel end up in my shoes while hiking in.. The mid height of the Terrex Scope solves that problem! They do seem to run a little large so you may want to go down a size from your normal shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ricardo from The perfect balance of size and weight As an avid mountaineer, hunter, outdoorsman and a veteran, I wore many different boots to include: approach, mountaineering (leather and plastic), military (jungle boots, leather boots jump boots and cold weather boots). For the design and use of the Terrex Scope GTX series, far beats most boots on the market. I used: Raichle, La Sportiva, Asolo and Haix. The Adidas Terrex Scope GTX is the best boot for me to date. There is a perfect balance of size, width, balance and craftsmanship. The boots are light weight and kept my feet warm in 10 degree Fahrenheit wet snow! I ended up purchasing a second pair because of the comfort and snug fit. It also helps out I use the GSG series for running and workouts! Buy a pair today, you will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by olddog52 from Impressive! These boots went straight from the box to a 6 day backpack trip in the Utah mountains. Having used a pair of Terrex Scope GTX for the past 3 years, I was confident that the high top version would fit and perform well. I was not disappointed. Having the extra ankle support was a plus and the performance of the Stealth rubber on the extensive talus fields traversed was outstanding. I look forward to using these with strap-on crampons for summer snow climbs. These boots are lightweight, yet durable, and versatile. They work best for people with narrow to medium width/volume feet. Based on how well my Scope's are holding up after much use, I anticipate these boot will prove to be as durable. Having played in the mountains for 40+ years, I am very particular about my footwear. The Scope High hit the mark in every category. Well made, fit like a glove, lightweight, and perform admirably; as well as mid-weight, backpacking/mountaineering boots I have owned in the past. Adidas hit it out of the park with this boot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jwittguide from Great overall hiking and approach shoe Disclaimer; as a grassroots athlete for Adidas and professional mountain guide, I get to try quite a bit of the gear. I picked up these shoes desiring a high top approach shoe with some waterproof-ability. While admittedly the shoes don't climb as well as some approach shoes on the market (-1 star for use in technical terrain), they excel on the trail, and do a wonderful job of keeping your feet dry. Then I took them to the Himalaya for a month long expedition, where I fell in love with the comfort, just the right degree of stiffness for extended trekking, and how warm they are in colder temps. For those features, plus improved stickiness over a typical hiking shoe, I give them two thumbs up and would recommend them to anyone that has a average to slightly narrow fitting foot. I am using them in my true size, but some people prefer going down a size as they can run long. Buy two pairs and keep the ones that fit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AdamRockClimb from Solid and Light Weight Very good boot. The support of a heavier duty boot, but the weight of a day hiking shoe. I really like the combination of fairly aggresive lugs with sticky rubber. Great traction in all conditions. I found it to be a little stiff and uncomfortable around the ankle at first, but they just need a little break in period and now are very comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Vitamin R from Good light boots I am a full time trail builder so I spend a lot of time walking through the woods scouting, and working in all conditions. I prefer light hiking boots over my steel toe work boots as they are more comfortable on uneven terrain and over logs and rocks. I really liked my old Guide Tennie high tops, but they didn't hold up well and the soles lacked traction on steep slopes. The have much better tread for steep loose terrain and have great ankle support. I haven't had a chance to see how they work in wet conditions but so far I would recommend these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great multifunctional shoes! I've had these shoes for about a year now and have really thrown them through the ringer. I've shoveled tons of snow in Tahoe this winter with dry feet. I've skydived with them. I've hiked in them and most recently had them on for a week long shoot (im a filmmaker) where I found myself hanging off of buildings and walking on all sorts of different materials with plenty of grip and comfort. I'm a huge fan and these will definitely be in my arsenal for years to come. They're showing little wear for the amount of use and abuse I've ran them though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MixMastaLuke from Lightweight, trendy shoes I bought these shoes about two weeks ago and had the chance to give it a test run throughout Linville Gorge in North Carolina. The shoe is impressively lightweight, the shoes are about the same weight as my Chaco's (sandals), if not slightly lighter. The waterproofing seems to hold up, although I didn't test it in depths above 2-3". Other than one big slip on some wet rocks during a heavy rain, the approach rubber was confidence ensuing on most scrambling and bouldery approaches. The lacing system allows you to pop the shoe on and off quickly which is nice for hopping between crags and climbs; that being said, I'm worried about the integrity of the lacing system and unsure of how long the eyelets will hold out. I can already see wear on them and some stitching starting to pull. As for fit, if I would have ordered half a size smaller than my normal shoe size it would have been a perfect fit.
