Rated 4 out of 5 by Raina from Grippy traction, roomy across the laces. At first these shoes felt really firm, but about 5 minutes into my run they softened up and felt great. The lugs are very large, and I was worried they might not grip on smooth surfaces, but the sole is amazingly grippy! I took them through a few muddy stretches of trail and my feet came out dry, though the water did not go over the top of the lacing. This version seems a little roomier across the laces than the Terrex Agravic (non GTX). I'd prefer if they were more snug to the arch here, and this is the only reason I'm not giving the full 5 stars. Every foot is different though, and these still work well for me! They are sharp looking and have good toe protection, which is nice for technical trails. I think I'm going to love these shoes even more as we head into winter!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Addy from One Month Later Update: After running in this shoe less then a month, the upper material has no stretch, no give and rubs against my side foot/toe. This shoe is so uncomfortable I had to stop running for a week because it was so painful. The upper part will not break-in due to the kind of material used. I did like how this shoe kept my feet warm and dry during wet, cold weather, and the nice rubber grip on trails. Sad to say I will not be running in this shoe any longer. :( (Run 3 miles/day)

Rated 5 out of 5 by sarahschlaefke17 from Awesome for Approaches These shoes are great. I ordered the green pair and they have only proven to reflect their description. I ended up getting these based on Climbing Magazine's Best Approach Shoe Review and it was a good decision. http://www.climbing.com/gear/review-our-top-5-approach-shoes-for-2016/ The bottoms are sticky enough that I won't slip on the slick Wisconsin quartzite and they are not too stiff and clunky, so I am able to move quickly and stealthily to take on just about any talus field. Excited to take on the spring season with these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jenn from Great traction & waterproof! I have gone trail running 3 times so far, and love them! They have great traction (it's not knobby, which can sometimes trip you up!) & are definitely water proof. I always wear an 8.5, but these feel a tiny bit big, so I used the very top holes when lacing up and that keeps my heel down just fine. I like the darker color, especially for trail running...hides the dirt better! They are not too heavy, the laces stay tied, and you can take the insole out to put your own in!....overall a great sneaker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by nplasto from Great for wet warm trail running I'd recommend these shoes to anyone who wants to stay fit in the winter with a few runs or likes running on wet trails. They are very water proof and fairly light. I would not recommend this to people who want to run 100s of miles in the ice and snow. I bought these in hopes of replacing my beloved kanadia 7 trail GTX. Unfortunately after 150 miles of training I had to give them away. The fact is they are not going to be able to take me the 135 miles at the Arrowhead. I bought them in a half size larger than my street shoe and the heel does not fit snug at all without very thick socks. On top of that the ankle is cut very low and I actually found myself cranking my ankles often in these shoes. Last but not least they actually began to fall apart. A hole started to form on the insides of the shoes (wish I would have taken a photo before giving away). I'm thinking it was for several reasons: first I was demanding a lot from these shoes hours of punchy snow pulling a pulk and second because I was jamming way more than the shoe could handle inside ie neoprene socks and thick wool socks. I honestly think these would be amazing shoes for anything other than winter ultra running.

Rated 1 out of 5 by tundratrails from I wanted to like this shoe so bad But I just don't. The shoe is uncomfortable, it slides when you take corners on the trails. Even if you use thin socks/thick socks, they still slide. The ankles are cut lower than other trail runners, and if you hit a rock or branch, you may find yourself scrambling to avoid a twist in the ankle. The original laces are weird against the tongue and slide so much so you just can't get a good tighten on them. I feel every rock, acorn, branch, etc. on the trail in this shoe and it's not as light as the trail wears on. They hurt by the time I get off the trail. I've taken them out 5 times and I've tried to really like them. They are honestly not trail runners IMO. I hate I spent this much on them- I've worn them and I can't take them back. Guess I can wear them with jeans, but they aren't even that comfortable for just casual. :(

Rated 4 out of 5 by VTGreen from Sweet Feet! I really like the snazzy style of these shoes. The light weight design is great on the trails or taking long walks. The only part of the shoe that was a little uncomfortable were the upper sides of the shoes where the laces begin. The material is thicker so when I flex my foot the material rubs against my skin. I just make sure the shoe is not tight, and discomfort is less. Not sure if this will get better as the shoe breaks in or be a continual issue. Time will tell. The customer service is amazing! Thank you:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by runlaurenrun from Super awesome, top notch shoe, poor sizing Pro's: - Gortex: did a great job keeping the water out through a stream crossing. I cannot wait for winter snow to try it out. -Tread: very grippy, lots of rocks on my trails and they kept me upright. -Comfy: the boost gives power back but also a nice squish with lots of support. Con's: - They sell out of sizes quickly. (Don't second guess buying them though because they are great shoes) -The sizing is a half size too big. I wear a size 7 in all other shoe brands and had to return then and get 6.5.
