Rated 4 out of 5 by arcejaeger from Casual Routesetting Shoe Sizing: It depends what you want to use it for. I wear a size 9 to 9 1/2 Nike and found the size 9 FiveTennie to be snug on the roof of my foot (due to the sock-like fit), but quite long around the toes. Feel: They're a mix between the Aescent and Guide Tennie. Definitely not as stiff as the Guide Tennie, but not as soft as the Aescent. The base of the shoe is 100% flat, so heel hooking is a no go. Edging seems feasible, but again my sizing was off so right now I can't edge on much. Look: They look like great casual shoes. Sleek and go well with any form of casual attire. No complaints there. Since I use these the most for routesetting, if I were to do it again I'd get the shoes tight enough so my toes are at least touching the front of the shoe so I can feel edging. Right now, they're definitely too big for that. Personally, I can't wait for a comfortable day-shoe that has some toe rubber and a semi-fitted heel for climbing in... No idea what that shoe would look like but I bet it would be a big hit!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Drink Coffee Climb Rocks from Its true what they're saying, they run large Most reviewers are saying these run a 1/2 size large. I would say they run 3/4 of a size large. I bought them in a size 10 and they are noticably larger than my access approach shoes with are size 10.5. I typcially were are 10 - 10.5 in approach shoes. I bought these to be more a casual shoe for cragging and around town, not a shoe I would actually climb anything in. I wanted to be able to slip it on and off with out untying. Normally with 5.10 shoes that would have meant a 10.5. I bought these in a 10 and still have some extra room. I probably could have gone 9.5 and still ended up with a shoe that fit the "casual approach shoe" bill. Other than that, they seem quite nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pudge from Run 1/2 size big. I'm usually 9.5 in all Adidas Outdoor shoes. Got these in 9.5 but too big. Especially for an approach shoe. Otherwise, they seem awesome. Well made and I like the sock like fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NarthZader from Saw the other review, shoulda listened! The shoes are great! they look awesome and fit great. They run about a half size larger than other 5.10s At least the width feels snug true to size, but the length is a 1/2 big. I'm super stoked on the free returns guarantee so I can switch them out and get a size down quick!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Andrew1 from Great approach shoe, but run large These are really comfy and very cool looking approach shoes (especially in the teal/magenta, which is the obvious choice). One issue is that they are sized like a running shoe instead of an approach shoe. I like the fit in my normal size because they are comfortable for wearing day-to-day, but if you want these for real approach shoe activities where you need to trust the toe of the shoe to hold onto rock (e.g. some light climbing on talus, etc.) then go at least 1/2 a size down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by notagumbynoway from Size down, Party on I purchased these in a 12 but quickly decided to go for 11.5 which ended up being the better choice. They are a little tight on width when slipping them on but I've worn them about 3 days straight and they fit incredibly comfortable now. I laced them so they push my heel to the back and it's a dream come true. The pink laces were a liiiittle much but the grey laces were perfect! These are now my primary shoe for casual use and for walking to the crag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by loudcat from dope! but y'all need to restock on sizes love the shoe both as an approach shoe and also as casual footwear. like everyone else said, they run a half size too big. but i personally like a little extra space for my feet on my casual shoes. my only complaint is i logged on to buy two more pairs of the retro "five tennies" in a size 9 and 9&1/2 but they only offer 10.5 as the smallest right now. other than that i have nothing but good things to say about them. cant wait for you to restock!

Rated 5 out of 5 by waterguide from Perfect all-day rock shoe. I've had the Guide tennies which work better for applications in which you might want a "precise toe" for a technical scramble. However, they are like a tank and not the most ideal for really long approaches. These five tennies have all of the protection and grip that you might want for a day of rock hopping and scrambling around. Very comfortable. Be advised! I wear a size 9.5-10 street shoe. I wear size 9.5 in Anasazi as well as the Hi-angle leather. My feet are fairly cranked in those. After reading the above reviews I ordered a size 9 in the five tennies. My toes still have some wiggle room. But again, these aren't something that I'm about to climb in, so it's good. I also have VERY narrow feet and these fit like a sock around the girth of my foot. I love these for what they are. A fun and comfortable crag shoe. Ready for most any approach.
