FIVE TEN QUANTUM VCS CLIMBING SHOE

Ideal for steep, overhanging routes and long bouldering sessions

For the redevelopment of the classic Quantum, we worked with the Huber brothers, Alex and Thomas, to develop an all-around performance shoe for any climbing setting. The Hubers tackle a diverse range of climbs with many different angles and rock textures, so Stealth® C4™ (our most versatile climbing compound) was a natural choice for the outsole.
  • Material: Clarino
  • Benefit: Stealth
  • Weight: 8.5 oz (240 gm)
  • Downturned, Stealth® C4™ rubber outsole (4.2mm)
  • Fully synthetic Clarino upper – No stretch
  • Velcro closure for easy on/off
  • Comfortable, wide last construction
  • Breathable Ariaprene tongue
  • Stiffness: Stiff
FIVE TEN QUANTUM VCS CLIMBING SHOE is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pointy and Comfortable Very structured shoe with a precise pointed toe. Higher volume than other 5.10 shoes with a well-designed heel cup (for me - not too deep). Still enough to let the shoe support on small edges, sensitive enough to power down on bad footholds. Toehook rubber is a great addition. Sized 1/2 down from street.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long Term Generalist I found this shoe to be everything the lace up is except. It has more heal tension. Which makes break in a little slower and more uncomfortable. I have not felt the lining causing knuckle pain from rubbing so I can wear them all day. I size the same as lace version.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad rubber I really enjoyed this shoe a lot while it lasted, but unfortunately the toes blew out between one and two months. I'm a Route Setter and was looking to try out this new shoe and was hoping the stiff rubber would be durable and longer lasting, unfortunately it wasn't. I hope they bring back a shoe comparable to the Arrowheads because those were the most reliable and durable all around shoes. I wouldn't buy this shoe again unless in some modified version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Edges and smears Used it mainly indoors but also a few days on both granite and limestone sport. Edges way better than the Hiangles even though I wear them slightly too big, ca half a size up from my preferred size. They do stretch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good downturned shoes I got these for harder bouldering and sized down 1/2 size from my normal 5.10 (and street shoe) size. They have a great shape with a nice pointy toe and I love the amount of downturn. However, I'd say the quality of these isn't great as the toe patches on mine are slightly different shapes (minor but annoying). Also, they don't toe hook super well, the shape makes it somewhat uncomfortable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Baggy in the toe area Orderd online, same size as I always order with 5.10 Teams and VXi. The Quantums felt like they were the right size except there was too much space above the toes, but otherwise the shoe was super tight. A baggy toe area where I'd need it to fit like a glove for toe hooking is no good. Was suprized, they just didn't seem well thought out and executed for a high end agressive shoe. I'll stick to the Teams.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall good shoe with interesting fit These shoes are really high volume, and seem like they would fit wide feet better. My toes are slightly curled in these but the material in the toe box is baggy when you strap them tight (heel feels good though). It feels wide and a bit baggy but weirdly aggressive still because the fit is still moderately tight- making them pretty comfortable overall actually. For more precise fit I still like the anasazis, teams and hiangles though. I wear 8.5 anasazi/hiangle and also 8.5 in quantums, for reference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Blend Of Comfort And Performance! I sized this 1/2 down from my Quantum Lace, 1 size down from my street shoe and its a perfect fit, snug but no pain anywhere and the heel is locked on. Its a medium-stiff shoe, slight downturn, with a nice pointy toe for precision. This is a great all around shoe.
