Rated 2 out of 5 by from Soft footbed, heavy and too water absorbent... The shoes look great but have a soft footbed. If you use platform style clipless pedals then it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. If you’re using standard xc clipless, the soft footbed creates a hotspot right where the cleat attaches. After a 2 hour ride my feet felt like someone took a hammer to them. I was limping for days. They are also noticeable heavier than Shimano, Giro and Specialized shoes. This is compounded when they get wet as they hold water like a sponge and take a solid day in the sun to dry. In the end I’m disappointed and regret this purchase for what I was hoping to use them for ... trail riding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good looking shoes! Liked how these look and bought on sale, added bonus. Read reviews and purchased 1/2 size up, they do run narrow at the toe box compared to the Freeriders and 1/2 size bigger fits me perfectly. I have spd pedals on my road bike and use these for weekend rides. I own Freeriders, Kestrel Boas and now these Falcons, love all of them. I shop the Mens shoes as there’s more choices and variety. The cleats are not as recessed and the alcove for the mounts not as large as the Kestrel, so this is feedback for improvement and that’s why I’m rating these 4 instead of 5 stars. Other than that, no complaints!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some things I love, some not so much I really wanted to love these shoes. The shoes them self seem great quality, good weight etc. love how the padding in the shoe feels awesome for biking. The fit is a little narrow for my foot on one shoe which is weird, creating a pinch point on the outside of my foot. That said i would rate them five stars but for one "flaw". I ride these clipless. The clips extend below the soles of the shoes more than any other clipless shoe i have had (including the addidas shoes i switched from). Makes walking on hard surfaces (roadways, rocks, kitchen) dicey. I wish the clip area was more recessed or protected.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking shoe, but tight fit Shoe looks good out of the box, construction seems good. Toe box is much narrower than other 5.10 products, so much so that my foot would not fit comfortably. True to size in length, but narrow in the toe area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tougher than an XC shoe, lighter than DH shoe As some have stated, they do tend to run a bit narrow, but find a shoe that fits you best! This just happens to fit me very well. The Maltese slots between the DH oriented Hellcat & the more XC/trail Kestrel. It's not quite as heavy as the Maltese, but still capable of handling the job of DH riding. I use these on both my DH and my AM bikes weekly. I've been using the Maltese shoes since they first came out and am on my third pair now. Having used the Impact clipless and the Hellcats in the past, these are by far my favorite cycling shoes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great design let down by manufacturing quality On my third pair of Maltese Falcons and love the design and comfort. Wear them for year round MTB on single track and a lot of bike packing in remote areas. Whilst the design of the shoe is great; the build quality and especially the glue used to hold the rand and sole onto the main shoe leave a lot to be desired. It is so bad that I carry super and bison glue in my repair kit just to keep my shoes together.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flat is good and bad As other have said the cleats will stick out and if you have a wood floor that might be a disaster! On the other hands flatter is better since you get a bit lower on your bike. I only used them without cleats so far and that works. They stick to the pedals very well, however they do not come with a filler plate and there might be water going into the shoes and the threads might get damaged. Honestly- if I wouldn't have gotten a really good sale on them I would send them back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and stylish Used them about 5 times now. Happy with the purchase. Fit well and easy to tie and put on. Only thing is the tongue is still a bit stiff so bothers my front ankle but I am sure it will go away as I break in the shoes. The clip pops out a little bit when walking but not enough to bother me.
