FIVE TEN KESTREL PRO BOA TLD MENS MOUNTAIN BIKE SHOE is rated out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Leath from Really happy with these Note* I've owned the original Kestrel Boa. Also have owned a few pairs of specialized and giro mtb shoes as well as multiple pairs of Road shoes. I've been using these for about a month now, and have been able to put some hours in the shoes as I've been wearing them for trail rides, as well as for my daily bike commute. - I can confidently say that these TLD Kestrel Pro BOA are the best cycling shoes I've owned - Sizing is good: purchased in sz. 11 (same as my Five Ten Camp 4 and Five Ten Aescent.) The heel cup is secure (im not sure if it will wind up destroying my socks on hike a bike sections - but I do like the unidirectional grippy material in the heel cup) there is a lot of room for cleat adjustment, the sole is so good: XC stiff / sticky rubber / heel slip / hike a bike sections have not been a problem. Closure system: huge improvement over the original Kestrel. The strap over the toe box seems a bit thin, but has been working perfectly and I don't think it'll blow out (time will tell). BOA: finally cracked the code - these secure well, have good micro adjustment and open up completely by pulling the knob - easiest in and out cycling shoe I've owned. Also, they're pretty light weight and do dry quickly (creek crossings as well as wet commutes). I'm not much of a review guy so sorry for the long read - but this is a solid product that i'm really happy with so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sven from 5.10 Adidas and TLD: partnership made in heaven Minus some sizing issues from the start, I was immediately impressed by the styling (even being bright red). I hope to see more colors soon. Sizing: I went a half size down from my street shoe and fit perfectly. But they provided free shipping returns. I bought a total of 3 shoes and returned two without issue. Great customer service as well. Amazing shoe and immediately put them through he test over 6 days of riding straight throughout California, Oregon, and Idaho. Hiking through snow, climbing over rocks, and, oh ya, aggressive trail riding. The perfect combination of a stiff sole that still allows you to walk comfortably, but get the power transfer you're looking for in a clipless mountain shoe. As expected, the BOA system is the gold standard and lifetime warranty can't be beat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NMrider from Much improved I tried some of the previous Kestrels but they were too rigid in the uppers, felt like a stiff dress shoe. I noticed they made some changes with these and I bought another pair. The upper material is more flexible now and better ventilated. The soles are stiff but not overly so. Some flex is a good thing. The strap and boa combo is well designed and easy to adjust. The inside has some soft materials which feel good. I'd say the fit on these is generous and there is good arch support. Sizing is a hair large. I wear an 11.5 sneaker and settled on an 11. The 11.5s were a decent fit too but I find your foot stays to the back when pedaling clipless so a hair smaller is ok with a wider shoe. So I'd say they are true to size but some may go 1/2 down. Though I own lots of black mtb shoes, I wanted the red tld ones as soon as I saw them...will look even better with some dirt!

Rated 4 out of 5 by MGriffith from Great first pair of clipless MTB shoes! This will be my first full season of mountain biking and after a recent trip to Moab, where my feet were consistently bouncing around on the flat pedals, it was time to go clipless. I've only been out on a couple rides with these so far but I've put them through a variety of conditions already. The shoes were great on climbs with stiff yet comfortable soles. We hiked through snow, crossed small creeks and my feet stayed nice and dry the entire time. The Boa lace system is convenient and the toe strap allows for precise adjustments. My only complaint, which may be addressed as the shoes break in, is the side of the shoe, just under the ankle bone on the outside of my foot, presses on my peroneal tendons causing discomfort. This only happens when I'm not clipped into my pedals so this is not a big deal. Overall, very happy with these shoes and I look forward to improving my MTB skills without worry about losing my pedals out from under me.
