Rated 5 out of 5 by kyle5804 from Great shoe for all mountain riding I live in western MT. Many of our trails are not buff/flow style trails. Many sections on the climbs up require prolonged hike-a-bikes. I also wear these when I clear trail with my chainsaw. Many 20+ mile backcountry rides on these some carrying the saw. They are comfortable enough to wear for 12-14 hour trail clearing days and for backcountry epic rides. The rubber is grippy on hike-a-bikes up long talus fields. I used to wear a Terraduro, and I think these are stiffer when pedaling but easier to walk in and do trail maintenance with. Highly suggest these shoes, great real all mountain shoe. Hats off to Five-Ten

Rated 5 out of 5 by RamZ81 from Helluvan upgrade I'd been wearing an old style of Shimano mtn shoes for about 10 years and they did just fine. I recently started riding a lot more and they just weren't cutting it anymore and my feet were killing me. Every bike guy and gal I rode with was wearing Five Tens and swore by them so I gave them a shot. I am beyond pleased. Not only are they far and away more comfortable than my old shoes, but they have a better closure system and a stiffer sole as well. full disclosure, I got these at half price but I would gladly pay full price for these shoes. They are definitely worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Andypandy from Comfortable and very stiff, but a bit heavy I have been impressed with how comfortable and stiff these shoes are. The soles don't flex at all while pedaling. They have been a huge upgrade over my worn-out entry level Giro shoes. The only negative things I have noticed are that they are quite heavy, I was not expecting that. Also, I don't like the directional fabric in the heel, I would prefer a material that is grippy in all directions. My heel moves when walking in them but I don't notice while riding. I don't like the Adidas logo on the tongue of the shoe. Keep Fiveten a separate brand! I don't like the look of many of the new Fiveten bike products because they have the look of a fitness or running shoe. The kestrel pros look nice but more color options would be nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DrewBolin from These shoes are COMFY! Got these on a whim because I was tired of looking like an idiot walking in carbon soled sidi’s up rocky hills and slipping all over the place. SOO glad I did, they are almost as rigid as far as soles, but way more stable! Haven’t had any issues at all with them and they are wider so they fit my feet so much better to allow for more miles and that’s the goal. Plus the BOA system is super quick and easy to use, and the strap helps separate the top from bottom so you don’t feel like only one area is secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kin Wah from I love this shoe I bought these to replace my old kestrel BOA which I found a bit tight in the toe box. These new ones have a Velcro strap in front making the toe box adjustable and much more comfortable. Wonderfully grippy and stiff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DRM19 from Best bike shoes I have ever owned I have ridden these shoes about 5 times now and I can confidently say they are the best bike shoes I have ever owned. Having come from a triathlon background for 10 years I have owned a lot of shoes. These are the most comfortable bike shoes that I have ever put on my feet. I have a US size 12 foot that runs wide. A previous pair of five10s took some time to break in and were not always comfortable on long rides. These thing went on the first time with great adjustment in the toe box due to the velcro strap. The high quity boa system leaves me feeling very secure with no foot movement. And best of all they have a sole that is as stiff as a road shoe with no noticable flex. There have already been several times when i needed to get unclipped and then quickly replant my foot on the pedals. With the ultra grippy bottom, I feel huge confidence that my foot will remain glued to the peddles even when I can get clipped in quite in time to handle a knarly feature. They are also quite water repellent (at least compared to my other MTB shoes) and they leave my feet dryer when getting small splashes or rubbing against wet leaves. My one potential gripe is that they are a bit warm, which is nice for cool weather riding, but I'm not sure if they will be an issue in the summer months (tbd). But this is not enough for me to give these shoes anything less than 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Precise and responsive shoes I had tried the previous rendition of the boa and loved the lacing system but the toe box was a bit too tight for me. I love this new version and it's super responsive and very little loss of power to pedal. I was using a specialized cross country style shoe before but these are a significant improvement. It's all the benefits of a stiff shoe with the comfort and sticky outsole or a rock climbing shoe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by shoehorn leghorn from I'd like to see these shoes lose a 1/2 pound The good: They are stiff, yet comfortable enough to wear all day. After they get scuffed up a bit, they don't look so much like orthotics. However, they are also heavy and a bit too chunky. (5.10 started out making flat pedal mtb shoes- where this chunky style works.) On a road/gravel bike, all that extra rubber is wasted. It makes the shoe heavier than necessary and I had trouble with the extra rubber on the sole rubbing against my cranks- i had to set my cleats all the way to the inside to prevent this from happening. Overall great shoes, great closure, but they need to slim down for the road/gravel market.
