FIVE TEN GUIDE TENNIE MEN'S APPROACH SHOE is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Please redesign This would be the best approach shoe ever if it didn't delaminate. I've warrantied the shoe 2 times in less than a year. The stealth rubber is amazing and sticks very well to every surface. The improvement in padding around the heel and drop in weight is nice. This 2017 model doesn't gouge my heel like the 2015 model. I will continue to buy them and would recommend them to people but anticipate warrantying them. I hope that they redesign them soon or make improvements so they don't delaminate.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as the Mids I’ve had six pairs of Guide Tennie Mids through the years. Use them at work, BASE jumping, motorcycle riding and everything in between. Since they were discontinued I decided I would try these low tops. They are similar, but do not provide the same sturdy feel as the mids. Also, i can’t use them at work anymore because they don’t offer ankle protection. I have no idea why they would discontinue such an amazing boot, but I’ll have to go elsewhere for footwear now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean well designed shoe The Guide Tennie Approach shoe is a durable, well designed shoe that offers a clean, low profile look. Regretfully I ordered the right size but it does not fit properly. I was an avid user of the Guide Tennie mid GTX and am disappointed to see it discontinued. It provided good ankle support without excessive stiffness, waterproof, excellent grip, breath-ability, room for thick socks and a clean, cool appearance. A great four season shoe. Please consider bringing this product back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from On my 5th pair This will be the 5th pair of these I've gone through. They get very hard use through the years working in Film and TV production. On one job my bags didn't make it to the location but I was wearing my Guide Tennie's that enabled me to safely work climbing up Stromboli in Italy whilst filming Geologists at work. With all the use these get I replace them once a year due to the sole wearing down but is good value for money. Also use them for running over rocks at the waterline with full confidence that I'm not going to slip and drown my equipment in the ocean. The only criticism is I wish the size went to 13 1/2 US

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe.... Climbed the Grand Teton via the Direct Exum route back in 2009 in this shoe. I vividly recall stemming in my Guide Tennies on dime edges in the dihedral on the "V" pitch of the Upper Exum while looking several thousand feet below. I still own the same shoes and the only complaint I have is that the back of the sole is delaminating. I see this has been fixed with the new model with the sole extending up the back of the shoe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic - Near flawless I've had the 2016 version of this shoe for awhile. I've never really liked it. Uncomfortable, strange, but so grippy I have no choice but to use it anyway. I am far, far more pleased with this version of the shoe. It's comfortable, the grip still exceeds logic (on natural surfaces. I wouldn't try parkour, the grip sucks on man-made surfaces, which is fine. It sticks to rock, I'm not kidding, far better than it logically should. Amazing). I'd buy a full size up. The only reason that this isn't the perfect shoe humanity has invented is that the tongue has nothing attaching it to the rest of the shoe, and thus not preventing sand and grit from working its way into the interior of the shoe. That's the one feature they had right in the 2016 version - A web of cloth that prevents ingress. This one little nitpick is not significant, and should not sway you not to purchase the shoe. When grip matters, I wear this shoe, period. Good stuff.
