FIVE TEN GUIDE TENNIE 2016 - DISCONTINUED MENS APPROACH SHOE is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Biggest fan of these shoes These shoes are incredible, I hope they consider bringing them back. Approaching with these shoes has been life changing (coming from wearing regular tennis shoe), if rocks are in the mix, you WILL NOT slip on anything (unless its loose, nothing can stop that right..) Also, if you got a stemmy crack kind of climb, ive climbed up to 10.B outdoor and 11.C indoor with these things, stealth rubber is no joke if you climb long enough you know that. Anyway, my first pair has last me over three years until I am tired of gorilla gluing the top sole, I might buy 4 or 5 of these last ones because I do not want any other shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best approach shoe on the market I got this shoe for free for a promotion from the AAC so all of the sizes weren’t currently available and the shoe is slightly too big for me. That being said, this is an amazing shoe. They’re super comfy but stiff enough to do some moderate climbing. They have that really good 5.10 edge on them and pretty sticky rubber. I’m currently a certified climbing instructor with the AMGA so I’ll definitely be putting some mileage on these pretty quick. I plan on purchasing new ones or resoling these when they wear out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't make sense I've taken these out a couple times, and honestly I don't understand what these are for. 1. They have no kind of breathability, so your feet start sweating almost immediately. 2. The rubber on the sole is the slickest I've ever experienced. I feel safer rock scrambling in my vans. As soon as these shoes touch water or snow they become ice skates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable kicks I got these shoes for mountain biking. I’ve have been stoked on how well they stick to my pedals, and when I have to hike a bike they shine bright and get me up. The rubber is grippy on rocks and this is helpful when carrying a load up a steep mountain to access a trail. I would recommend these shoes to any one looking for a solid approach or mtb flat pedal shoe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happily upgraded I have used Guide Tennies for many years. I just wore out my last pair on a couple of big walls in Yosemite and left them in the Camp 4 dumpster after 4 years of service. The new pair is substantially sturdier and has served me well on recent bushwhacks to bolt some new routes. They have better support than the old ones while still being grippy and nimble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Climbs really well Out of the box they are outrageously stiff and take a really long time to break in. Mine aren’t totally broken in yet, but they’ve gotten much more comfortable and climb ridiculously well. Not as good for long hikes and approaches, but for the shorter more technically minded approaches they do the job well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very red! Got these for a steal and super happy with them right out of the box. Got them half a size lower then I maybe should have, but I wanted to be able to do some climbing in them. First time out with them lead a 5.7 OW with only a brief moment of fear on a runout section on the bottom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from business casual Purchased these to wear to work, as people say you should have nice leather shoes. I also do some scrambling in Yosemite with them. Excellent edging, jamming champions, and enough grip to feel confident soloing 5.7. All day comfort with great performance.
