Rated 2 out of 5 by Tranqui_Yanqui from Great shoe let down by poor construction After my first ride, the first (toe side of foot) lace hole tore while riding. I think their must be some predisposing fragility in this area because I didnt do anything aggressive. The lace got caught on a pedal pin, pulling the lace, and ultimately tearing the shoe eyelet. This is the second issue I've had with this shoe model. The previous Freeride Pro I returned immediately because it was defective (pic attached). I have previously had good luck with 5.10's and have been disappointed with the quality since Adidas acquired them. I emailed them recently but havent heard back, hence this poor review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jonyoon21 from Please offer a wide version I love the fit and feel of the original freeriders and wanted to try these as they have some nicer features. I thought they would fit the same but are unfortunately narrower. I have large wide feet and a freerider in size 13 fits my feet perfectly and are very comfortable. These freerider pros in 13 are a bit narrow and I keep thinking about my feet while riding. Also it seems like they do not stick as well to my pedals as my old freeriders do. The extra toe protection is nice and the build quility seems really good. I just wish that it had the same fit as the original freeriders. Also, please bring back the canvas freeriders. Those were awesome.

Rated 3 out of 5 by fastkevin from Getting Tighter As "Pistol' said, the right toe box is tighter/narrower than the left. I thought something was wrong with my fricken foot until I read his review. I had to buy totally different model, and even then size up to 11(from 10) just so there was enough room in the toe box. I don't understand what 5-10 is doing. I've still gotta paid of Sam Hill's(with the predictable front rubber delaminating from the show) that fit me perfect in a 10. Up til a 2-3 years ago, 5-10's fit me perfectly. Now, it's like they're sizing them for for people with smaller and narrower feet, who want to feel 'bigger' by buying larger sizes. I'm on the verge of shopping other brands, and that's something I haven't done in a decade+

Rated 5 out of 5 by MTB Xterra from Best Shoe for riding flats Ever! My wife bought these shoes for me Christmas 2017 and I have put close to 700 miles of mountain bike riding on them. They still feel great, look great, and stick to the pedals. It's unbelievable how well they hold your foot to the pedal. They have protected my feet/toes on numerous pedal strikes and a few crashes. They are surprisingly comfortable to walk in even though they are stiff for support on the pedals. I wouldn't want to walk all day in them for miles, but they are comfortable. The laces are amazing as well. They stay tied unlike my normal running shoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Brandle from Almost perefect shoes I love everything about these shoes! the only thing I would love to see is it offered in a wide version. I have a pretty wide toe box and they fit fine with most of my socks but they are pretty snug around the pinky toe. But I've been avoiding using my showerpass Waterproof socks(The Perfect PNW sock) because the shoe ends up being uncomfortable. I have some clipless shoes in wide and both sock options are comfortable. I would of given them a five if they were offered in wide. This has been my dilemma for shoes for quite some time. Often I hear the recommendation to size up but you end up with a lot of extra room in the toe box and that ends up being just uncomfortable in a different way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by STW1 from Awesome shoe just the best shoe available for riding flat pedals. it's just that simple. these are the best. note that sizing is different from older shoes. If you were riding the original free riders, for example in size 8.5, you will want to size these up to 9 or maybe even 9.5

Rated 5 out of 5 by Perpetualweekend from Best flat pedal shoe These Freerider Pro's are the best-performing flat pedal shoes I've worn. I wear 10.5US M in most shoes and have owned two pairs of these in 10.5 -These Freerider Pros have stiff midsoles which aids pedaling efficiency. They're quite stiff out of the box, not so much as spd shoes, but much stiffer than other bike-specific non-spd shoes I've owned. Forefoot flex limbers up and pedal feel gets a more sensitive after a few days -They fit longer than most other 5.10 shoes but those couple mm's of space in front of my toes has proved useful when tagging rocks. Toe box wiggle room plus some stiff material under the plastic toe guard has probably saved me from a broken toe or two. -If they get soaked from rain or stream crossings, they dont absorb much water weight, the snug fit doesnt change, and dry overnight (unlike Impacts and skate shoes). -Durability is great. Wore one pair for about 18 months, riding year round, before buying a new pair. That first pair is now on it's second life as kayaking shoes. Even with worn down and pedal-chewed soles, the rubber compound is like suction cups for walking on wet rocks

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nick001 from Narrow Toe Box I had to send these back because the toe box was too narrow, I’ve been wearing freeriders for 10 years, and this is the first sizing issue. Maybe it’s the new model, but I also wonder if this has to do with different notions of fitment since Adidas bought out the company. I hope not. Love the 5/10 soles but not these do not seem Designed with the notion that feet swell put in the trail. I supppse I could try a size up, or a different model. Maybe others will have better luck, but these do not appear to be true to the gut chart, at lest in my case, and may be designed for people with more narrow feet.
