Rated 1 out of 5 by from Way too big I bought these last week and have been so excited for them since I saw their promos a year ago. They are the coolest looking approach shoes! I am so sad to say that they run HUGE and I am having to return mine. I am a women's 6.5 and purchased the 6 after seeing the reviews, hoping that the 6 would be okay. Unfortunately I think I would need to have a size 5 (or smaller as some are saying they needed to go 2 sizes down) for these to fit. I am extremely confused why they are so off on size, its as if it is men's sizing and sold as women's shoes. I would really like to buy these shoes and hope that the sizing will be fixed or smaller sizes will be created soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Approach/tennis shoe hybrid! I've been wearing these around for a good couple of months now and I'm stoked on them! I, like everyone else, had to go down a full size. After they've stretched out a bit, I wish I could go back and go down another half size for a really snug fit without socks. I would say these are kind of a cross between a tennis shoe and an approach shoe (as the name suggests) - they're not nearly as stiff as the old Guide Tennie, which I like for hiking around. Being more flexible, they're not quite as secure on the tough scrambles, but the sole is bomber and they smear beautifully. I think they're a great compromise between a really stiff approach shoe and something that's actually comfortable to hike a few miles in. Also, the retro look is super cute!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfortable! I bought these about a month ago and I was nervous about the sizing after reading the reviews. I am a 7 to 7.5 sometimes and I ordered the 6. They fit great. I could see going a half size smaller if they were made any smaller but they aren't so I'll take a little extra comfort over precision. I'll use my climbing shoes for actually climbing. I live in Joshua Tree and I put these on and went for a test hike in the park...they were comfy like old friends right outta the box. Time will tell how long they last because I beat the heck out of shoes but so far I love them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs way too big! Sick retro design! However, the sizing consistency leaves something to be desired. I own a pair of the 5.10 Approach Pro shoes in size 7.5, so I figured going with the same brand, ordering a 7.5 in the FiveTennie would be a safe bet. The FiveTennie looks to be 2.5 sizes bigger than my old 5.10 approach shoes! See photo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from If they fit I would absolutely love them! Too big. 1.5 sizes, maybe? I’m totally in love with the style and so will reorder...if there’s ever such a thing as a size 5.5? For reference, my street shoe size is 7, but I think going down to a 6 will still be too big in these. I’m a 7 in every other Five Ten approach shoe.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sizing is STILL off I just received these shoes in the mail today, crossing my fingers and hoping that they would fit since I'm a size 6.5. I bought a size 6 because of all of the reviews I had been seeing about the size being too large. Sadly, they have not fixed this issue and the shoe is too large for me and they don't offer anything smaller than a 6. What a disappointment. I had been eyeing these shoes before they even came out. I even contacted customer service twice before buying them - once asking if they were going to fix the size issue (they said they would) and another time asking if they were going to restock, in which they said no (but they did). I love the look, but I can't fully love it if it doesn't fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfy, great grip, but runs very large! These were super comfy right out of the box! I had read the reviews and while I normally wear a woman's size 12, I got an 11 and I still have tons of room to spare. I probably could have made a 10.5 work. The shoe fits snugly along the sides with the ankle area being just stretchy enough to get your foot in, so once it's on it you stay in place. I really like the laces, other than the awesome pink color they are very 'grippy' and do not come loose. The materials are bright retro and I've already gotten tons of compliments. I took these on a short trail and felt very stable hopping from rock to rock. I did get them a bit muddy but it washed off the fabric very easily. Overall, I love these!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Goodbye 5.10 I've been a hiking, mt. biking, kayaking and climbing guide for over twenty years and 5.10 Pro Deal customer for over ten years but, since the acquisition by adidas, the quality and overall thought that goes into the new offerings is severely lacking. For many of us out here that actually use these shoes on a daily basis for their intended purposes and don't buy shoes just for aesthetics, we are extremely disappointed by the direction 5.10 has gone. Recently, I took a chance a purchased one of the new models (Five Tennie) and could not believe the horrible fit of this shoe. I have always ordered size ten in every 5.10 shoe (except my rock shoes) I own and it has always fit like a glove with no hot spots and minimal break in time. This shoe is at least a half size longer than any of my other 5.10 shoes and if anyone has a foot wider than a AA this shoe is akin to Chinese foot binding. I've never experienced a shoe that was too big but, at the same time so narrow that I had to take the shoe off because of the pain being placed on my forefoot. This NEVER happened with any other 5.10 product before adidas moved in. Initially, when adidas discontinued models like the 5.10 water tennie and the 5.10 canyoneering shoe I was disappointed but, understood that these shoes where a bit of a niche market but, none the less are highly missed by many kayakers and conyoneers. Another shoe that was one of the best scrambling shoes I'd ever worn (especially for hot, dry climates like we have here in Arizona) was the 5.10 Access Mesh. Apparently, this shoe is going away since I no longer see it listed, replaced by the Access Knit. I have worn the Access Mesh, Access Leather and Access Knit and put all of these through many seasons of use here in AZ. The Access Knit is an EXTREMELY substandard replacement for the Mesh version because the knit uppers do not hold up near as long (I have three seasons on a pair of Access Mesh that are just beginning to show signs of holes in the uppers compared to half a season on the Access Knit that already have holes in the uppers) as the Mesh and also do not have the same support, leading to more foot roll and heel slippage. Seriously, adidas/5.10 do you put any real world R&D into these new designs? I know for a fact that before 5.10 became 5.10/adidas there was a lot of thought and R&D that went into the designs. Adidas, you are doing a great job of ruining a great outdoor brand. I'm sure my concerns will not be noticed by the corporate office but, know that 5.10 is losing a very large part of it's guide and hard core followers and we are the ones that have heavily promoted the 5.10 products for MANY years.
