Rated 1 out of 5 by NorthShoreBoulderer from great fit, faulty rubber I’ve been climbing with the Aleons as my limited use performance shoe for the last month and a half. I love the fit and performance of the shoe, but unfortunately within 1 week, the toe cap started to separate from the rand on both shoes. Now within 2 months a of owning them I’m going to have to get a resole which is a first with any shoe, five ten or otherwise, I’ve ever owned. I love five tens products, and these shoes climbed great, but I was definitely expecting a higher quality for such a high end shoe. I hope Five Ten fixes this issue quickly. It’s a shame to see such a comfy high performance shoe fall apart like this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by OliverSFnative from Great Design/TERRIBLE Construction I waited MONTHS for these to come out and man they are really really great shoes - however $200USD and < 3hrs of climbing (in the gym) the sole is peeling off of the toe rand. Day one and shoes are falling apart. I have never had this problem with any of the previous 6 pairs of FiveTen shoes I have owned/climbed in. Perhaps Adidas is working out some kinks? Also really bummed that a company with 21.9B EUR in sales (2018) makes the customer cover the shipping costs to get a product that falls apart after < 3hrs of use warrantied. Great design - TERRIBLE construction. Customer service is deplorable compared to other brands in the market (and I am a die hard FiveTen fan but...) might be time to migrate after this product/experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Forrest1986 from Preform exceptionally well! Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with these shoes and would certainly recommend them to someone looking for a high-end, bouldering specific shoe. They do great with steep sport climbing as well but wouldn’t be my go-to for a day of cragging. I will continue to take these shoes bouldering because I love the way the heel stays put while heel hooking and how sticky that C4 rubber is. I was also impressed by the Primeknit material which is one of the benefits of Five Ten’s partnership with Adidas. The fabric allows for a snug fit across the top of the foot while remaining comfortable due to the seamless nature of the Primeknit upper fabric.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous from Underwhelming I’ve had these for three weeks now and have climbed in them 8 or 9 times total. Mostly gym sessions and one on rock. I never split toes on other shoes and these are already starting to split bad. The heel rand is also starting to peel a little, an issue I normally only have at the three month mark. I can also tell that, while the fit is great and they probably aren’t going to rip anywhere, the shoe is goi to stretch WAY to much. The 3D knit upper is super floppy and is already wearing out. Overall the show is designed well for climbing but they are annoying to put on and the execution and materials just aren’t right. They definitely feel like Fred Nicole designed his ideal shoe and then Adidas handed it off to CMF people with no climbing background.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ian bonnes from Well they were awesome. So I bought these about a month ago. And have worn them 4 times at the gym. About an hour each session, bouldering so not constantly climbing in them. And while at first I loved them. The build quality is definitely sub par. The sole is starting to flake off at the toe and I'm afraid the entire sole will be falling off eventually. For the price I paid I thought the quality of construction would be a little better. But as for how they perform I'm highly impressed. I love the fit. Sizing was the same for team 5.10, quantum Vcs and hiangles

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bruce43 from Fantastic! These shoes are excellent! Ive been climbing for over 10 years, and have been a five ten fanboy for almost the entire time. I’ve gone through multiple pairs of the black team shoes, old dragons, and hiangles. Compared to those shoes, the toe box feels more aggressive and precise, the heel is deeper and fits way better, and are extremely easy to put on thanks to the elastic closure. Here’s some sizing info- Team- 8 Dragon-8 Street shoe (freerider/access)-8 Hi angle- 7.5 Alien- 7.5

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bhkillian from Almost Great! Very excited to see new innovations, but I think this one fell a little short of greatness. Fans of the Dragon/Team/Hi-Angle/Blackwing will be a bit disappointed in the awkwardly wide toe box and heel that is way too easy to peel off your foot. The new materials are certainly lightweight and comfortable and the medium stiffness rubber is excellent. But it’s predecessors have set a high bar in functionality outside that the Aleon has trouble keeping up with. I would have a hard time not recommending the cheaper, better Teams/Hi-Angles over this one. Keep trying, Adidas Outdoor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Peter J from Pleasantly surprised I ordered the same size as hi angles and the fit is amazing. The heel fits better than any other 5.10 I have ever worn. Quality seems great. Took them to RMNP and was very happy with the precise toe and with the heel. Might not be my toe hooking shoe but i have yet to give them a real toe hook test
