Kai Lightner has been an active competition climber since the age of 7, when he attended his first Youth National championship.  Since that time he has earned 9 National championship titles, 3 Pan American titles, and 1 Youth World championship title.  Kai won his first adult national championship title at the age of 15, the youngest age eligible to compete.  Kai has a passion for indoor competitive climbing and enjoys “pushing his limits” through outdoor sport climbing.  He has climbed numerous 5.14 graded routes, reaching a new milestone April 2015 with his ascent of Era Vella (5.14d) in Margalef, Spain.  He aims to continue tackling new outdoor challenges, and competing in international climbing competitions.
