Rated 2 out of 5 by Dosu from Needs a lot of break in time Was excited to receive the shoes, put them on as soon as they came in and was instantly uncomfortable. Delt with it all day at work to get them broken in. Felt like I had mild shin splints after the first day in them. Wore them the next 5 days, around town and they felt better as they broke in. After about a week I felt it was time to test them on a trail. Ran in them for the first time and did about 10 miles. Feet hurt for 2 days afterwards and couldn't put them back on. Brought them into the shop and used the shoe stretching bar on them in the inside to hopefully break them in better. Haven't felt like wearing them since. Will likely give them another try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by fish from I purchased this shoe a month ago, as I have ther predecessor to this model. This specific model shoe, in my opinion is the most superior brand and model on the shelf and on the trail. I have used the Solomon XP Pro with Gortex and found that the it did not hold up, particularly the sole. The sole torsion is too soft and material wears out. The Adidas Terrex fast r gtx, is superior in materials, superior torsion in the sole and provides better motion control to the medial side of the shoe. I live in Steamboat Springs, Colo. and I use the Terrex fast r gtx on the mountain trails daily for hiking and dog walking simultaneous to each other. I wouldn't hesitate to use these shoes for a weekend overnight hike while carrying a small pack up to 28 lbs for the weekend. I would recommend consumers of like outdoor activities purchase a pair of these shoes. Now, Get outside and get some fresh air!! Thank you Adidas John Tomasini

Rated 5 out of 5 by JessCat606 from Good disc golf shoe: COMPARISON WITH SWIFT-R I purchased a pair of the Fast-R GTX shoes, to compare with the Swift-R GTX shoes. I had previously had several pairs of the Swift-R GTX shoes. I wear these shoes almost exclusively for disc golf. Comparing the Fast to the Swift, they look very similar. The biggest difference, as far as I can tell, is that the Fast seems to have a slightly higher center of gravity, and a narrower fit. Especially after wearing both models for a month or so, I notice that, while wearing the Swift-R, my foot tends to slide side-to-side inside the shoe while planting on energetic drives. There seems to be a good bit of room inside the shoe. Wearing the Fast-R, the shoe hugs my foot more tightly, with less slippage. I ended up getting thicker insoles for the Swift-R, since I was getting sore feet after playing 3-4 rounds in a weekend. Later, I attempted to put them in the Fast-R, but realized that there was not enough room to do so. After several months of wearing the Swift-R, I was cinching them up so far/tightly that the sole has begun to pull away from the body of the shoe at the ball of the foot, due to the lateral stresses of driving a disc. So far, I have not seen this problem with the Fast-R.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jadg from Great shoe I bought this shoe for disc golf and it is very good. Waterproof works great and I have amazing grip out on the course. Only one complaint is pain in my right foot where the tongue meets the rest of the shoe when I walk. My left shoe is very comfortable though so it is most likely a problem just in my shoe. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by phoerster from Love this shoe! I had purchased a pair of the Fast R gtx in 2013 and loved them so much I purchased this pair recently. In comparing the previous shoe to this newer version I wished the new pair had the heel pull tab to help get them on and clip to my climbing harness. I really miss this tab. The previous version had a little more hard protection around the shoe that had taken a lot of the abrasion that the new shoe will see on the fabric that is in it's place. I am still happy with the shoe but seems that a couple corners were cut.

Rated 3 out of 5 by barneyphil from My favorite Adidas GTX shoe I received latest model Adidas Terrex Fast R GTX shoe as replacement of GTX shoe returned because of a waterproofing failure after 5 months of use. The replacement shoes came with a defect crease in the tongue which digs into the top of my foot. Called Adidas warranty office to tell them about the issue but did not receive a return call. I love the fit of this shoe and have owned Adidas GTX boot and shoes in various models over many years and will persevere with them because Adidas has a great warranty program.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Daniel from Lives up to the expectation These are literally the first pair of adidas I have ever purchased and so far have been a very pleasant surprise. The size is accurate and fits perfectly, the quality of materials and construction is easily apparent and the rapid lacing system works well. I have been using these as everyday shoes for the last two weeks to break them in and have not gone running with them yet, but so far they are comfortable and offer incredible grip. I am already a fan of the Terrex apparel and footwear line. Well done adidas.
